TEXTILE DESIGNER AND AUTHOR
dolls in outfits she
fashioned from fabric
scraps. That same artistic
bent moved to fabric
designs, paintings, and
the clothing line she and
her mother developed.
“I compose, edit, and
narrate what’s going

the images and forms in
my fabrics,” she says.
JU ST FOR FUN

Anna Maria uses her fabrics to cover magazine
holders (she remakes her holders out of old
Fed Ex boxes). To replicate the look, wrap and
fold fabric around a box form and secure with
either fabric glue or Anna Maria’s favorite iron-
on adhesive, Steam-a-Seam strips.
